Harder Not Easier : Babycakes CC-2828VC Cupcake Maker, Vanilla Cream, 8 Cupcakes
I bought this for my boys who are only 9 but love to bake. I thought they could make cupcakes with this with little supervision. Not so!

If you don't use cupcake liners you have to unplug and cool down , the baked cupcakes before you take them out. Which means to make 24 cupcakes you have to cool down the maker 3 times! So, the cupcakes that could have been baked in a matter of minutes takes an hour or more.

This can be avoided by using cupcake liners. Sort of. The problem here is two-fold. The cake size is off. Not quite "mini" and too small for a regular size. Secondly, if you use a liner you can get the cakes out without waiting for them to cool. BUT you have to be fairly nimble because you're handling very hot cupcakes.

For a 9 year old, the risk of getting burned by the oven is less than getting their fingers burned using this device.

As for ME, I find it would be much easier to just use the oven and normal cupcake pans.

The only benefit I can really see to this maker is avoiding heating up the kitchen in the summer.

Very difficult to clean on top. If any filling spills over you have to chisel it out. It is quick and pies cook evenly. This was a $20 consolation prize because I didn't have the money for the Breville version. Good enough for now.
